My Personal Cheerleader
I am not the best basketball player. I am not in the best physical shape. I
don’t play on a team and I sure will never be the greatest player the game has
seen. When I play, I play for fun. I play at home on the blacktop driveway. I
get all sweaty and stinky. I breathe hard and a few times I’ve pulled a muscle.
I am definitely not anything amazing to watch.
For some reason, though, she thinks I’m amazing. She will sit and watch me play.
She will cheer me on. When the guys come over she will yell and cheer as if it
is an important game or something.
She loves to watch me play. My faults don’t seem to bug her at all. She will sit
and watch me for hours, even when I am just messing around and shooting some
hoops.
Yeah, she’s my personal cheerleader, my little girl. She thinks her dad is the
best basketball player in the world.
